3M Greptile Gripping Material is a revolutionary new, proprietary microreplicated* technology that allows the user to achieve maximum gripping and torquing with minimum effort. Greptile Tool Tape consists of a soft, flexible, non-PVC elastomeric thermoplastic surface with thousands of tiny "gripping fingers" that multiply the coefficient of friction to reduce slippage and repetitive twists. There's also backing material that can be adhered to virtually any tool or hard surface. When used alone on a single surface, such as when adhered to a tool, Greptile Tool Tape enhances a strong, secure grip and is extremely effective under wet or oily conditions. When used as a two-part system -- for example 1) Gulfport Mechanic's Torque Gloves include Greptile gripping material on the palm and fingers and 2) Greptile Tool Tape gripping material adhered to a tool -- the two parts of the fingerlike projection system mesh together and grip performance is maximized. Then, as firmly as Greptile gripping material holds, it releases just as easily. Better gripping and fewer repetitive twists mean more efficiency and less risk of repetitive strain injuries, especially when exposure time to vibrating equipment is reduced. *Microreplication refers to the ability to replicate multiple microstructures with exact precision and consistency.
