The Peltor Service Intercom is a powerful intercom system designed for emergency vehicle (fire / ambulance / rescue department) use to accomodate the requirements of up to 25 personnel at one time. A system of extension and split cables allows users to connect up to 25 people at various locations with a distance of up to 2000 meters. The headset model with boom microphone (MT72H7A-40) (NRR 24) contains all the electronics and power, which operates on one 9-volt battery. Available (as shown) hard hat model (MT72H7P3E-40) (NRR 21) with same features and also as a headband throat microphone model (MT9H7A-40) (NRR 24) Communication is completely interference free and fully duplex, so several people on the line can talk simultaneously. These systems are available as portable units or as custom made hardwired intercom systems which can be installed into larger service areas such as a factories / plant sites. Accessories include extension cables (2-100 meters in length), Split cable, male to male adapter and a headset connector with PTT & support clip (.7 meters).

In many circumstances, wired intercom systems are the only method of communication in extreme noise environments, particularly when the people involved are relatively stationary.
